Warwickshire Schools Cross-Country Championships

Students from across the college showed up on a bright, chilly morning at Kineton High School to pit themselves against the best runners from across the county.

We started off with 2 excellent performances from Lexie T. and Esme du B. who finished 9th and 11th. They both worked brilliantly together during the race, moving through the field to both qualify for the Warwickshire Team in the National finals.

Next up was the gutsie Marie G., who showed fantastic perseverance and courage to finish the testing Kineton course in 29th.

Our Junior Boys team continued with the impressive performances from our students to battle with a highly competitive field to finish 16th (Oliver W), 26th (Jonathan I.) and 31st Jasper J.

The most successful of our teams was the Inter Girls. Lead home by Elspeth U. (5th) and closely followed by the Emily L. (10th) and Emily L.(11th), they comfortably won the team race, and all have been selected as members or reserves for the Warwickshire English schools squad.

Also in the same race, but running in the Senior girls event was Rositsa G., who ran a typically brave race and finished in a well deserved 7th to also gain county selection.

It was a fantastic performance from all of our students and I look forward to seeing many of them competing for the county in the National Schools finals in March.

Congratulations to you all,

Mr MacGibbon
