Echo Eternal project

Southam College are proud to be commemorating Holocaust memorial this year through the Echo Eternal project.

We would like students to create an artistic response to this year’s national theme, ‘One day,’ and in response to our school survivor’s assigned testimony.

Deadline for all artistic entries is Monday 24th January.

Please see you Heads of House for further details.

Year 9 Drama

Y9 have been studying Practitioners of Drama ready for independently developing devising pieces next term

Today they looked at the rebellious methods of “Kneehigh theatre company”. They took the tale of Hansel and Gretal and modernised it but making it silly, using props for their unconventional use and breaking the fourth wall.

The results were fabulous and freed up their creativity!

Food Preparation and nutrition

‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’… This week our 4 Year 9 Food groups, totalling 68 students, have been making and decorating Festive Chocolate Logs, which have then been wrapped in cellophane to take home and share.

To the background music of various Christmas songs, the Year 9’s have worked well to produce some beautifully decorated Christmas treats.

A big thank you to Suzanne Evetts for generously supplying the cellophane.

Well done.

Mrs James and Miss Sinden.
