Girls Football

On Tuesday night the year 7/8 girls football teams went to Myton for their league matches. All three teams showed outstanding teamwork and communication. We had brilliant performances across the teams – stand out performances from; Abbey G-S, Flo M and Evie K.

The league continues next Tuesday where the teams will be competing for a place to represent Warwickshire at the county finals.

Well done, Miss MacLachlan & Miss Oakley

Year 7 Rugby

The Y7 Rugby squads met at school on a murky Saturday morning facing the challenge of putting in two competitive performances at the renowned grammar school, Kind Edwards Camp Hill.
Undaunted by the cold and wet conditions, both the Performance and Progression squads executed the systems that they have been working on at training and in PE lessons.
The B team got if to a great start. Following some dominant ball carrying from the forwards, Theo B powered over from close range. Ollie S, Ben H and then Oli McV showed pace and agility to avoid numerous tackles, allowing each to score individual tries.
The Southam scrum was dominant throughout and proved a factor in the next two scores. Ollie S notching his 2nd of the game as the ball was secured against the head and Milo T spotted the smallest of gals to power through from scrum half.
HALF TIME: Camp Hill 0 -30 Southam
The second half started with another solid scrum, fly half Adam C releasing Ben H down the blind side to show a great turn of speed and run in unopposed from 40m.
Toby GL was unlucky to have his maiden school try disallowed for a knock on at the end of the first half, but he was determined to not let this hamper his performance. He scored two quick trys in succesion. The first showing power to burst through tackles from close range, and the second from fully 40m after being released by Adam.
Further scores followed from Adam, Jack E and Ben before Theo capped off a tremendous performance to score his second of the game.
FINAL SCORE: Camp Hill 0-60 Southam
Overall a great team performance, but special mention must go to Harrison who has listened to feedback and is becoming an increasingly dominant runner with the ball in hand and Ollie McV for his dancing feet, however, man of the match was awarded to Theo. He was everywhere in attack and defence, made a huge number of dominant tackles and secured possession consistently on the floor.
Well done boys, see you at training in Wednesday.
