Sports Hall Athletics

Girls miss out on the School Games Finals by 1 point
A fantastic day at the year 7 sports hall athletics event today. The boys finished the day in 3rd place behind Kenilworth and Myton, while the girls narrowly missed out on first place by 1 point.
The Southam squad saw some
Outstanding performances on the track with both Esme and Harrison winning the 2 lap event in spectacular style. Success continued in the 6 lap races for both boys and girls seeing Lexie finishing in 2nd place and Tobias cruising to victory in the boys race after a very impressive and tactical run.
More strong performances were seen in the field events with a win from  Cassidy in the shot put. Darcie and Chloe both had strong performances in the speed bounce with 65 and 60 bounces respectfully. Rounded off with some brilliant jumping from Tobias and Esme in the triple jump, Tyra and Grace in the vertical jump both with 41cm.
The day was rounded off by 2 outstanding wins in the 4×2 lap relays with strong performances by all 8 runners Izzie, Grace, Emese and Esme, Harrison, Dan, Leon and Tobias.
Well done today, some great performances and we look forward to seeing how well you all perform later in the year for the track and field competitions.
