Any student not going on the trip should go to the Gym am registration.
If you are going on the trip you need to be in the hall at 8.45am ,no later than 8.50 am when the assembly will start. If you have a bus that is late, it is worth getting in earlier if you can.
Important information about the day will be delivered in the assembly. The quicker we get through this the quicker we leave so be prompt.
Food – food is expensive at Alton Towers. It may well be worth bringing a packed lunch to eat there. You may bring money at your own risk.
Clothes – it is non uniform, but the same rules apply to a trip as if you were partaking in a non-uniform day at school.
Return to school – please have your phone with you to inform parents of estimated time of arrival. This can vary based upon traffic. Parents should not park in the bus bay. We hope to be back from 6.15pm – 6.30pm but again this is dependent upon you being on time and the journey back.
The year 10 football team took a long trip on a rainy evening to Studley as they looked to stretch their winning streak to 3 games in the league. Southam started well with creative play in the final 3rd but could not find the final touch on the slippery surface early in the first half. Goals from Liam, Fin and Jack took it to 3-0 in the second half until Tobias finished a free-flowing Southam move with a brilliant turn and finish to make it 4-0. A well finished penalty by Studley late on as the game finished 4-1. Some strong performances across the pitch and everyone fought hard for the win with a big thank you to Josh and Fin who stepped in last minute to make the fixture possible.
The year 10s go again next week to make it 4 in a row.
We are looking forward to welcoming you today in the Core from 16:30 until 17:30.

The year 10 football team hosted Alcester Academy on Monday 6th March in their first football fixture since 2022.
Both teams started well but it was hard for Southam and Alcester Academy to get the ball on the floor and play football whilst they were getting used to the small pitch. Most of the first half was scrappy and was battled out in the middle of the park until a breakthrough goal, nicely finished by Jake gave Southam the lead with 12 minutes left of the half. This goal opened the floodgates and Southam managed to score 3 more before the break with goals from Tobias, Liam and Ruben. In the second half, Southam’s defence stood strong with good performances from Harrison and Jack whilst Freddie continued to break down Alcester Academy attacks. With Dan converted a cheeky free kick in the second half, Southam ran out 5-0 winners and look forward to their next game on Monday 13th March against Studley where they will try to add to their 2-game win streak.
